Island Empire – The source for quality, imported hardwood furniture in the Virgin Islands.

Nestled in the heart of the Eastern Caribbean on the Isle of St. Thomas, Island Empire began as a shared dream about big business in a small Island Paradise. That dream belonged to Elizabeth Hall and Jennifer Packard. Both originating from New England, they made a move South, settled in to “Island Life” and worked for competitive companies as sales managers, buyers and designers, selling a variety of wholesale gifts and clothing to the local retailers.

Upon their chance meeting in 1997, they realized that they were a business match made in heaven or (paradise) and decided to start their own wholesale and retail business. Their dream came to fruition in June of 2001, when they set off to Bali and Thailand on what was to be the first of many successive buying trips overseas. Their combined artistic and creative backgrounds have produced an ever-growing and changing wholesale and retail business including specially designed handcrafts, clothing and sarongs for wholesale, as well as first quality teak wood furniture and home furnishings for retail.

However, after 14 years of island life Jennifer has decided to trade in her flip flops and is heading to the Carolinas with her husband Geoff and her adorable one year old Sammy.  For information about owning your own business in paradise, follow this link to see the page: Click to view listing(s)This link will no longer be available after 10/20/2008.
